Ministry

The Reverend David B. Marth, Pastor of Trinity, is readily available for confidential discussion of personal matters. With many years of experience, he is available to talk over any problem. If professional counseling services are required, referrals can be arranged. Call the Church office.

Trinity's parish house is a busy resource to the parish and those in need in our service area. Weddings are frequent at Trinity, with brides, grooms and their wedding parties filling the parish house rooms. The new couples' encounter with Trinity's pastor often leads to a rich involvement with parish life for years to come.

Trinity Lutheran Church is well-known for its wide range of services to persons in need. For many years it has provided emergency food for homeless persons and for families who have run out of funds. Six days a week, volunteers from all over the metro area join Trinity members to fill the needs of people coming to the parish house. This Community Care includes clothing the homeless, serving soup and other donated food, and other help including emergency financial assistance. Three times a year Community Care also provides gift certificates for necessities to the neighborhood's working poor.

Trinity is a full partner in Peter and Paul Community Services, a joint ministry with St. Vincent and S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic churches. This agency helps homeless men through a year-round emergency shelter and transitional housing, as well as residential care for the homeless mentally ill. Also, a meals program serves hot evening dinners to the elderly, homeless and low-income people in our neighborhood. This partnership provides an invaluable service to Soulard and the greater community.

Trinity is a founding partner in the Good Samaritan Service Center for the Homeless, now merged into a new agency called Humanitri. This agency finds affordable housing for homeless persons, and provides supportive services to ex-offenders and their families. Community Care assists this agency and others with financial assistance and in-kind donations.

Trinity is also a member of the Near South side Employment Coalition. Trinity's pastor serves as a member of the board of Doorways, Inc. providing supportive services to those living with H.I.V./A.I.D.S.

Friends of Trinity and members are invited to assist in any of these services to our community.
