Bible Verse of the Day

Youth Confirmation PDF Print E-mail

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from who you have learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:14-17

This month: Confirmation Camp at Camp Wartburg October 16!

So what is confirmation?

Confirmation is directly anchored to the commitments parents make before God on behalf of their children on the day they are baptized.  Together parents, sponsors and the Church commit themselves to the task of seeing that every baptized child is "brought up in the true knowledge and worship of God, and be taught then Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed and the Lord's Prayer."  The objective of our confirmation program is to help each youth explore the Christian faith and their Lutheran heritage so they might personally affirm their faith before their church family and God.

Confirmation is important because it is designed specifically for the time in each student's life when their spiritual, physical and emotional development are beginning to emerge uncontrollably!  Because life is a journey, confirmation is as well.  It is not so much a program to be experienced and a graduation to be celebrated as it is the second step in a lifetime of steps of discipleship that follows on the heels of each child's involvement in Sunday school.  It is not an end unto itself, but an important training event in each person's development of an intimate walk with their Lord.

Confirmation groups meet conveniently on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in a classroom of the school.
